Helix piercing made according to ear anatomy.
The helix is a piercing placed in the outer cartilage of the ear. The position can be lower or higher, depending on anatomy and the desired visual effect.
Before piercing, the cartilage thickness, angle and space needed for the jewellery are checked. Correct positioning reduces unnecessary pressure and helps the jewellery settle naturally.
Initial jewellery
The jewellery used immediately after the procedure must allow normal inflammation in the first days. Do not change it before the recommended period and do not replace it with a hoop that is too tight.
Helix healing
The initial indicative period communicated by the salon is about 30 days. The cartilage may remain sensitive longer, and full maturation varies depending on the body, position, pressure and care.
Avoid sleeping directly on the ear, headphones pressing the area, knocks and snagging on hair or clothes. For care, read the guide about correct piercing cleaning.
Simple care. Consistent.
The cartilage must be protected from pressure and unnecessary handling.
What you should do.
- Clean the area according to the instructions received at the salon.
- Use sterile 0.9% saline solution.
