Cover-up Tattoo.
A new art on your skin.
Evaluation, custom design and anatomical integration for transforming an old tattoo into a new project.
What is a cover-up tattoo?
A cover-up is a new tattoo designed to integrate and mask an old tattoo. Success depends on the saturation of the existing pigment, colours, scars, size, and the freedom to create a larger and more contrasting design.
Cover-up Portfolio & Details
Examples of works done in the studio, focusing on composition, contrast and integration of the old tattoo.
Careful evaluation and dedicated consultancy
Each cover-up session is individually planned, deeply analysing the density, textured scars and shades of the old pigment in the dermis.
How does real camouflage work?
An effective cover-up does not mean applying a light colour over a dark one. The result depends on saturation, contrast, shape and integration of the new design.
Decisive factors for a successful coverage
For the old design to be integrated as well as possible, the project must be adapted to essential technical criteria:

Answers to questions.
Everything you need to know before starting tattoo modification at our studio.
Can any old tattoo be covered?
Many tattoos can be covered, but not all under the same conditions. Saturation, colour, scars, size and freedom to enlarge the new design matter. Some cases benefit from laser fading.
Can I choose any design and any colour for a cover-up?
Not quite any. Light colours such as yellow, white or light blue applied directly over black will not block the old pigment after healing. Our artists will choose shades and compatible designs with you (such as organic textures, bio-mechanical details or saturated shades).
Will a cover-up tattoo be more painful?
The sensation is similar to a regular tattoo. However, if the skin has prominent raised scars from the old procedure, that area may show slightly increased sensitivity during the session.
